Serving Our Community

At Lynden Air Cargo, we believe in giving back to the communities where we do business. Over the decades, we have proudly served our home state and its residents – in small villages or big cities – by providing assistance in emergencies or disasters and meeting unique requests.

Our contributions have been diverse and impactful. For example, our planes deliver special containers to Alaska villages to store frozen whale meat from the annual village hunt allowing for year-long food stability. Because our Hercules aircraft can land anywhere, we fly life-saving vaccines into high-altitude and remote locations where other planes cannot land.

Our pilots routinely fly into small Alaskan villages like Birch Creek for local deliveries and invite local children to sit in the cockpit and enjoy the novelty of a big plane landing in a small community.

On a global scale, we fly relief missions into refugee camps, disaster-ravaged areas and even provide materials for peacekeeping efforts during political uprising and contested voting. During the pandemic, our flight crews traveled to Hawaii to pick up more than 600 stranded cats and dogs from shelters and brought them back to Seattle for adoption. Paws Across the Pacific was a heartwarming example of using our equipment for good.

We have been recognized with a North Star Award by the Alaska governor for our long history of assisting in relief and environmental emergencies, and we routinely receive awards from the Alaska Department of the American Legion for the number of Alaska veterans we hire. We are also recognized by United Way for the generosity of our employee contributions.

Our employees know the people and places of Alaska matter. While serving our customers, we consider the ways we can use our Hercules aircraft and global presence to improve the lives of our fellow Alaskans. Wherever and whenever we fly, we proudly represent the people of our home state.
