In 1995, Alaska West Express established Lynden Training Center as a hazmat training facility built on the belief that students learn best through hands-on experience. Today, Lynden Training Center is a leader in emergency response and safety training. In high-stakes environments, competence is the difference between a successful operation and a preventable tragedy. At Lynden Training Center, we provide industry-leading certification delivered in immersive, scenario-based environments designed for fire departments and a variety of industries.
Our focus on safety, health, emergency management, and response procedures helps reduce work-related injuries and illnesses across organizations of all types.
Our Fairbanks training facility includes office and classroom spaces, a training tower for confined space rescue, rope rescue, hazardous materials response, terrorism response, and industrial safety training. The site also features a commercial motor vehicle driving range and an extensive collection of bulk and non-bulk shipping containers — such as a custom-designed roll-over MC306 tanker, DOT 406, DOT 407, DOT 412, DOT111A railcars, intermodal tanks, intermediate bulk tanks, and 30- and 50-gallon tanks — used as realistic training props.
We also offer mobile training solutions and can bring our instructors, equipment, and props directly to your location for onsite instruction.

Our Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) training emphasizes defensive driving, regulatory compliance, vehicle control, and real‑world operating conditions common within industrial and transportation settings. All training is delivered by experienced instructors and reinforces company policies, applicable regulations, and industry best practices to reduce risk and improve operational performance.
