Brandon Campbell

HSSE Technician

Brandon has been with Alaska West Express since January 2024, where he works as a HSSE Technician and assists with the Lynden Training Center. His experience in emergency services began in 2013, when he earned an associate’s degree in Fire Science. He later completed a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management and Homeland Security at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF).

Brandon has both worked and volunteered as a Firefighter/EMT in Fairbanks and on Kodiak Island. He is currently a member of the Fairbanks North Star Borough Hazardous Materials Response Team and serves as a Confined Space Rescue Technician on the Alaska West Express team. His emergency response experience includes ice water rescue, rope rescue, vehicle extrication, medical response, hazardous materials, and firefighting.

Brandon has assisted with teaching in the UAF fire service program. He is certified as an Alaska State EMT-3 and a Nationally Registered Advanced EMT. He is also certified as an Alaska Advanced EMS Instructor, allowing him to certify students up to the Alaska State EMT-3 level, and as a National Association of EMS Educators Instructor for the National Registry EMT. He has taught Alaska Emergency Trauma Technician courses and enjoys traveling to and working with rural Alaskan communities and villages.

As a Wilderness First Responder, Brandon also supports wilderness medicine training. He regularly teaches Basic Life Support CPR/First Aid at the training center, as well as suicide prevention and Adult Mental Health First Aid and is certified to teach Traffic Incident Management and Stop the Bleed courses. He is passionate about bringing these courses to Alaska West Express employees, the industry, and the broader community. Brandon also holds a certification in Critical Incident Stress Management, which compliments these courses.
