James Maltby

Jim has been an instructor for the Lynden Training Center since the day it opened in 1995. His background includes 9 years with the United States Air Force as a Crash/Fire/Rescue (CFR) Specialist and Fire Inspector. In addition to his years as a firefighter, his background includes more than 20 years’ experience instructing hazardous materials emergency response, highway and railroad emergency response specialist, hazardous materials transportation utilizing 49 CFR, ICAO/IATA (air) and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (water) for the Lynden Training Center. Jim is the Director of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) for Lynden Inc., and he is the past Chief of the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) Hazardous Materials Response Team (HMRT). He is also a member of the American Trucking Association and the Local Emergency Planning Commission and State of Alaska State Emergency Response Commission.
