Project Details: The Wake Island project included paving of the parallel and ladder taxiways and apron, taxiway lighting, joint sealing, cold planing, seal coating, and aggregate shipping. Knik mobilized with one bargeload of equipment and material from Seattle and demobilized out with one load from Wake Island. Approximately 32,000 tons of aggregate was shipped by a bulk ship and transferred onto a 700-ton landing craft to the beach/harbor in Wake.
