Lynden Canada is a part of the Lynden family of companies, a global company that has been established for more than 100 years. Lynden Inc. is privately owned with corporate offices in Anchorage, Alaska and Seattle, Washington. The company roots were focused on pioneering various types of transportation services to, from, and within Alaska. The Lynden family has grown to 17 companies specializing in complex project management, truckload services, LTL, scheduled barges, inter-modal bulk chemical hauls, scheduled and charter air freighter service, international freight forwarding, specialized supply chain management and customs brokerage.

Ed Austin
1906 - Ed Austin started hauling freight with a team of horses and an iron-wheeled wagon. He named his enterprise Lynden Transfer.

Mile 57
1954 - Lynden Transfer pioneered scheduled freight service to Alaska via the Alcan Highway.

1970 - To create a stronger image, Lynden Transfer was changed to Lynden Transport, Inc.

Lynden International Logo
1977 - Lynden Transport formed Lynden Airfreight Forwarder, which later became known as Lynden International (Lynden Air Freight, Inc.).

1978 - Jim Jansen (right) was elected Lynden Transport President and Chief Executive Officer, and Henry Jansen (left) became Chairman of the Board.

Quest for Quality Award
2007 - Lynden International celebrates its 30th year, continuing the Lynden Family of companies’ long tradition of service excellence. Shippers have rated us as a top forwarder since 2000 based on Logistics Management Magazine’s Quest for Quality Award survey.

Lynden began with a clear mission: put the customer first, deliver quality, and be the best at what you do. Today, Lynden’s service area has grown to include Alaska, Washington, Western Canada, with additional service extending throughout the United States and internationally, via land, sea and air. Our mission remains the same. Complex transportation problems can be solved in the hands of the right people, with the right tools and the right experience.
