Project Details: This project involved the reconstruction of the Goodnews Bay Airport by constructing a 75 x 3300 runway on a 150 x 3900 runway safety area; a 35 x 282.5 taxiway on a 79 wide taxiway safety area; a 275 x 489 apron; a 20 x 1271 access road; a 120 x 120 pad for a segmented circle, wind cone and rotating beacon; a 30 x 69 precision path indicator pad (PAPI) and runway end identifier light pad (REIL); a heated snow removal equipment building and a 1700 special ditch for habitat loss mitigation. Additional work included electrical equipment and enclosure, medium intensity airport lighting, REIL and PAPI systems; fencing and drainage ditches.
